Spring Sing

Reilly’s spring choir concert was much anticipated. She volunteered to be a munchkin for the big show, so she had several after-school practices to work on choreography. The day of the concert, they gave a special performance during school, so she had to dress in her munchkin outfit for school…so cute!

Reilly’s choir sang Bop Shu-wop, a medley of songs from The Wizard of Oz, and….um…we don’t remember what else. (Not even Reilly does.)

This is mostly what I remember from the concert:

  • Reilly was a really cute munchkin.
  • Motherly advice given to Reilly: “You look really cute. Try to look at the audience instead of the person next to you while you are dancing.”
  • Reilly looked at the person next to her while she was dancing.
  • Luke smuggled a Zhu zhu pet into the concert.
  • Zhu zhu pets are poorly designed in that they have no “off” switch.
  • Zhu zhu pets are louder during concerts.
  • I had to take Luke to the car to put the zhu zhu pet down for a nap.
  • Aidan didn’t want to be at the concert.
  • It was hot.

But the best one of all…

Reilly sang beautifully and I kept thinking how great it was to have kids old enough to put on concerts for me to attend.

Even with all the drama.
