A Blessing in February

We have been looking forward for a month to traveling to Minnesota for Joe and Jenni's baby's blessing. Unfortunately, our van, which we have been discussing replacing, but really don't want to yet, has been having a few hiccups. The repair shop took longer than anticipated to discover why the car reacted like you were always pushing the gas and why the speedometer no longer works. So, we ended up renting a van to make our way East.

We left town at about 3:30 on Friday, only an hour past our intended time (that was totally Ken's fault this time.) The drive was pretty smooth, not including some minor parent/child altercations over the radio volume, etc. We forgot the directions to our hotel. Luckly, it was the same hotel my parents were staying at, so we just called my Dad for directions. With his help, and a 45 minute detour through St. Paul, we made it to our hotel a little after midnight. The kids were amazingly energetic for it being the wee hours of the morning.

We spent Saturday visiting with family, playing some Wii, and shopping for Sunday clothes for Reilly, who didn't make it out the door with hers.

Joe gave a beautiful blessing to his little girl on Sunday. Then we had to head back home to beat the potential snow.
