Labor Day

We took a tour of the Capitol Building on Labor Day. It was pretty neat. The inside corridors were gray marble and dark. Reilly said they made her feel like we were in the Ministry of Magic (Harry Potter reference). On the 3rd floor we viewed some wonderful tile mosaics, bronze busts, the chamber where the Nebraska Supreme court is held, and the hall where the legislature conducts it's meetings. We traveled in a teeny, tiny elevator to the 14th floor which boasts an observation deck. The view of the city made Luke very nervous. It was a fun tour. (Trivia for the day -- Louisiana's Capitol building is very similar, some may say they stole the very idea, to Nebraska's Capitol building, except Louisiana's is taller.)
